Submit to 10 days of science

Love blogging? Keen on photography or video? Good at writing? Addicted to twitter? Then jump on board because we’re looking for contributions!

10 days of science is centered on the events happening as part of National Science Week in NSW and ACT. But we’re not looking for promotional write-ups. We’re interested in postings that delve into the science behind the event you’re interested in. We’d like you to use the events as an inspirational springboard.

We want entertaining, readable and unique science-related blog posts … in whatever medium takes your fancy. Think on-the-ground twitter reports of events as they happen (check out our Guest Twitter feed on the home page), video QnAs or video footage, critiques, photo essays or opinion pieces.

The best way to start? Look through the events on the site. There’s around 100 and they’re pretty great! Even if you’re not able to attend any of the NSW or ACT events – you can still pick an event and contribute a posting on its scientific themes.

Look through the postings already published. We’re after more of the same: but in your voice, of course.

Please note, successful submissions may be edited for length or clarity. All ideas should be flagged with editor Kate Hennessy in advance at 10daysofscience@gmail.com or use the contact page. In all instances, please confirm that you have the rights to publish media you submit to 10 Days of Science. If it’s your original content, this shouldn’t be a problem.

If your video or photo includes members of the public, please confirm you have their permission to publish their image. If they are under 18 years old, you need to include a signed permission to publish form. You, as the author, retain the master copyright for any contribution you make, while 10 Days of Science retains a non-exclusive license to reproduce the contribution in all forms of media.

Please see our guidelines for the following submission categories:
